Charleston, SC () November 9, 2017 –聽While the Steinberg Law Firm is best known for protecting the rights of injured people, they also take pride in their service to the Charleston community.

The firm is passionately supportive of children literacy, adult education services, healthcare, employment, public safety and educating the public about their rights.

聽is dedicated to supporting local profit organizations who are equally dedicated to improving the lives of others. The personal injury firm is pleased to announce 猫咪AV as one of their funding recipients. The attorneys and staff of the firm have volunteered with this program for the last couple of years, taking time to tutor children who fall below reading level.

This year the attorneys and staff were thrilled to donate $5,000 to this organization to help continue the mission of working towards a future where every child has the individualized support they need to become strong readers and lifelong learners. Approximately 40 percent of third grade students in Mecklenburg County read on grade level. In partnership with teachers, public schools, community leaders and parents in Charlotte,聽猫咪AV聽is making a huge difference in students’ lives.

猫咪AV, founded in 1999, has placed community volunteers in low-income schools to assist children to receive fundamental reading skills. The power of volunteers makes a significant and measurable difference in the children’s reading proficiency. This one-on-one tutoring model has been proven to raise the reading levels of children who are at least six months below grade level in reading. The students are rapidly learning to succeed in school and in life with the personal attention provided to each child in the program.

Steinberg Law Firm attorney聽听补苍诲听聽serve on the organization’s strategic planning committee. The firm鈥檚 Director of Marketing, Yani Smith has recently joined the board in an effort to further the Steinberg Law firm鈥檚 commitment to continue their mission towards child literacy.

The Steinberg Law Firm Community Fund is pleased to be able to assist this much needed community program.

About the Steinberg Law Firm Community Fund

Applications for support are accepted throughout the year and considered on a quarterly basis, with decisions announced in the fall or summer of each year. Grants range from $200 – $2,500.

Submissions must be focused on education, literacy, health care or workforce development to be considered for funding.

Eligibility: Applications are accepted for non-profits that are:

Local
Recognized by the I.R.S. as a public charity, exempt from income tax with a 501(c)(3) public charity
Not a political or lobbying organization
