About èßäAV
èßäAV empowers students to succeed in reading and in life by engaging community volunteers to provide high-impact one-on-one tutoring. As we dive into the new school year, èßäAV anticipates needing approximately 11,000 community volunteers nationwide as well as hundreds of AmeriCorps members to support the literacy development of nearly 9,000 students through tutoring and an additional 6,000 students through other literacy support services.
èßäAV delivers a highly effective,Ìý program that has helped tens of thousands of children master the fundamental reading skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Since its founding, the national nonprofit organization has mobilized over 80,000 community volunteers to provide more than 2.7 million individualized literacy tutoring sessions to more than 75,000 elementary school students in over 500 under-resourced schools across ten states and the District of Columbia.
