On October 20th, and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto are teaming up for an afternoon of live music, with 100% of profits benefitting èßäAV. The church will host a jazz concert featuring Grammy-nominated saxophonist and San José State University Coordinator of Jazz Studies Aaron Lington and a combo of talented players, including Christian Tamburr on vibes.
An Afternoon of Jazz is a great opportunity for fans of live music and of èßäAV to come together to raise money and awareness for the benefit of struggling readers in our local communities. While this event will be an exciting chance to hear talented musicians at work and to support our efforts in Silicon Valley, èßäAV is particularly thrilled about the fact that the concert is a result of the above-and-beyond dedication and involvement of our own tutors.
We were first made aware of Bodhi Tree Concerts NORTH’s intention to sponsor èßäAV for their monthly concert series in early September. This news came to us from one of our own tutors, BTCN founder and artistic director, Bruce Olstad. Mr. Olstad is also the music director at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, co-sponsor of the concert series. èßäAV has been fortunate to have the ongoing support of UUCPA, with many of its members choosing to donate their time as tutors. This event is a great example of how èßäAV volunteers are the driving force behind our organization, giving their time, talents, and passion to our shared communities.
èßäAV would love to see you at An Afternoon of Jazz! Here are the details of the event:
