LifeChurch.tv joins èAV during the final push for reading progress in Tulsa

March 23, 2015

by Cindy Hoffman

Volunteer Coordinator, èAV Tulsa

èAV Tulsa has joined forces with LifeChurch.tv to engage the local community in providing one-on-one literacy tutoring in Oklahoma by becoming reading partners.

believes that “relationships drive change” and encourages each attendee to engage with a local partner organization to build relationships and create change in their communities. Both èAV and LifeChurch are passionate about providing students the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Together, the two groups are  working to recruit additional volunteers for some of èAV Tulsa’s highest need centers before the year’s end.

Since January, volunteers from LifeChurch.tv campuses, Jenks and Broken Arrow, recruited more than 30 volunteers to become reading partners. This support comes at a critical point for èAV as they are enlisting new volunteers to ensure all students in need of tutoring get the support they need before summer break.

In addition to providing opportunities for attendees to learn more about èAV, LifeChurch.tv has awarded èAV a $5,000 grant and hosted a donation drive to stock reading centers with books and supplies.

LifeChurch.tv demonstrates the transformative powers of community collaboration. When communities come together under one common cause–to empower students to succeed in reading and in life–students make tremendous gains in reading and become set for success.
